Awana clubs sharing Christ with 23,000 children in Nepalese refugee camps

Submitted by Country Director, Gajendra Tamang

The Awana Nepal national office in Damak, Jhapa, recently reported on more children reached through the Awana clubs established at Bhutanese refugee camps in Nepal. Here is a portion of the office's report:

"God has been doing wonderful works through this ministry in in almost all the seven camps. We have seen many kids accept Jesus as their personal Savior, and we have many more kids to be reached for Jesus.

"The 23,000 kids at these camps have been waiting to go back to their home with the hope of returning back to their country, but almost 16 years has passed. Now their hopes are being shattered because Bhutan has not shown any interest in its people residing in Nepal since 1990. Most of the kids are in such a circumstance that they have been involved in rowdies; even they are not in control by their parents. But thanks to Awana Clubs Nepal, which has been inspiring the kids to move in the right track, they are not taking the Word of God just idle but it is the life (Deuteronomy 32:47). Most of the kids have been so far reached with the love of Christ and now we are being able to see the rays of hope in their faces. Please pray for the kids and the situation going in Bhutanese Refugee Camps."
