Praying for Good News

Being saved by grace and not by works

"I am thankful to God for allowing me to learn about Awana.  To begin with, just a little bit about myself.  I am married but for 1 year and 5 months.  I met my husband in a local Bible School (Island's Bible Institute) that I attended for 3 years.  Towards the beginning of this year, God called us to serve as youth leaders in the SPEF church in Lautoka.  it was through this church that I learned about Awana.  I had been praying for the opportunity to start up a Good News Club, and it's amazing to see how God works everything out - Romans 8:28.  it is one month now since we have started Awana.  It took 2 years of praying for all this program to come to fruition.  The kids are excited about it and also I am excited to serve God in this way.  During the one week training that I attended, God has placed within me a burden to reach out to kids in my community.  Many children who are in our community are brought up in a different denomination church, with the main emphasis on salvation through works.  Therefore, please pray with us that these children will come to realize that "it is by grace that we are saved," - Ephesians 2:8-9.
