Leader in Uganda has a change of heart

Mbarara, Uganda

Ever since I arrived at the Awana Leadership Training Conference I have really been happy because the days worked as check points of my spiritual life.  I have to admit and repent that I have been seeing Awana as "keeping children busy."  I am sorry and really pray to God to forgive me and give me the commitment to serve the "ripest ministry."

Our church is in the community where people are interested in material gains but evangelism and discipleship is very weak.  The children in my community spend a lot of time watching TV so Awana would be the best avenue to occupy them and reach their spiritual hearts.  Our culture does not favor the girl child so female children need a lot of support so I feel their spiritual realization would save them from their cultural bondage.
