Awana advances in Indonesia

Sparkies in Indonesia

The island of East Kalimantan, Indonesia is located a two-hour flight from the capitol, Jakarta.  East Kalimantan is home to the former head-hunting tribe, the Dyacks.  Years ago the gospel message entered East Kalimantan as both Indonesian evangelists and western missionaries trekked the dangerous jungles and rapids to share that glorious message with the fierce head-hunters.  What a privilege and honor for us in Awana Indonesia to follow in the footsteps of those “giants” as we shared with the pastors and Christian workers the prayer of Awana—that boys and girls in East Kalimantan would come to know, love and serve our Lord Jesus.  Recently, though it took many steps, around 109 churches made a commitment to open an Awana Club!
