Reaching children from all backgrounds
Leader in Kenya loves kids
May God bless you for your generous gift that enabled us to go through the Awana Seed Planters Training. I am a single mother of one daughter, Laviniah, who is a student at Myeri Baptist High School. I am the first born in my family of six.
I live in Nairobi, Kenya and fellowship at Parklawn Baptist Church. It is a church of people coming from a different social set up. We have these that are from the slums, middle class and high class. There are also refugees and street children who come to our church. Awana has equipped me on how to reach out to the children regardless of their background. I now know how important each child is to God and, therefore, I have to leave the good news with them.
I lead in a house group fellowship that has approximately 10 children. When adults are studying the word of God, children are usually neglected or rather left to play as no one wants to take care of them for the two hours of fellowship. I plan to be discipling these children and ask another leader to take over the adult fellowship.
Thank you so much also for the training materials. For they will be very helpful and I will train other leaders so that we can have responsibilites.
