UNFORTUNATE and UNEXPECTED
Two Churches Go Up in Flames
The God's Worship Christian Church and the Abinash Church were unfortunately burnt down as a fire broke out in the Bhutanese Refugee Camp in Nepal. Not much is left amidst the rubble and smoking embers. Prior to this tragedy the churches were thankful and so hopeful as they saw the Awana clubs flourishing with the children.
"We want to give thanks to you all for bringing Awana club in our church and community. Through Awana many souls of kids are being saved, there are many changes in leaders and kids, the number of kids are increased day by day and kids are sharing good news to their friends and parents in Christ." Nira Silwal
"Awana clubs through it many souls are being saved. It plays a vital role in our church and community. Leader's and children's behavior are changed. Leaders are being more active. Children are leading and bringing their friends and parents to Christ." Sarah Pariyar
Both churches have increased two fold and three fold in their attendance since their establishment a couple years ago. As of 2010, over 30 children have been saved and many seeds are being planted in the camp. It is unfortunate that a massive fire broke out in the evening at the refugee camp. In the Goldhap camp, 700 huts destroyed with a displacement of 4000. Another 300 huts destroyed with a displacement of 2500 where offices are manageed. And Pathari camp where Awana clubbers gathered last July.
Many lost everything. Only the clothes on their back remains. Nothing was recovered. Please pray for them. Pray that God will provide their need. They need our help to buy clothes and to rebuild the churches.
