Serving the Lord Faithfully

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound,"  Isaiah 61:1

Nicolás Mosquera is a believer who twelve years ago lived like the world. He was under the vice of alcohol, cigarettes and other pleasures. He got married to his wife Angela and became a very bad example to his children.

"They read from the book, from the Law of God, clearly, and they gave the sense, so that the people understood the reading." Nehemiah 8:8

Last year his wife and children were invited to an Awana club. They liked the club and continued to faithfully attend. One day Angela was reading the manual that contains a lesson about God and fathers. The lesson was how God will catch the heart and mind of fathers who live as bad examples. There was repentance and reconciliation from that day on. A decision was made that the family would return to church. Today this family is one of the faithful families in the church who are growing in the knowledge of God.

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."  Proverbs 22:6

Like Nicolás Mosquera, many families are receiving the Word of God that is shared through Awana. We pray for Nicolás and his family every day that God will help his Christian life.
