Student Puts Her Creativity to Work for Awana
Thank you, Rebecca, for using your God-given talents to help children in Cuba.
When Rebecca made a pair of earrings for her teacher and a friend, her dad suggested she should open a store. He may have been kidding, but Rebecca took his idea to heart and made more pairs of earrings, selling them to raise money for Awana International's Adopt-a-Club.
Rebecca created a poster telling her prospective customers that all the money she raised would go to Adopt-a-Club in Cuba. "I didn't choose Cuba for any specific reason," Rebecca recalls. "My mom asked me what country I was going to sell the earrings for, and Cuba was the one that popped into my head.
"It was totally worth it to do this project. It was fun to make (the earrings) and then to see all of the people come and buy them, and some even made donations," she continued. "Kids my age need to remember to use their talents now and not wait. They can make a difference while they are still young!"
Thank you, Rebecca, for using your God-given talents to help children in Cuba come to know, love and serve Christ.
