Perhaps more than anywhere else in the world, Africa’s children and youth need to know how much they are loved by God. Millions live in the shadow of extreme poverty and the devastation of HIV/AIDS. Life holds little hope for these children, whose average life expectancy in many countries is under 40 years. Tragically, few in the African church are equipped to meet this need. Outside of Awana International, training for effective children’s ministry is largely non-existent. Since 2008, Awana in Africa has grown from reaching 19,529 children to over 250,000 on a weekly basis!
