Welcome to the Chewning family page. We are Kevin and Marietta Chewning and we have been married for 9 years. God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters Anna Leigh and Samara Ruth. Together we have served as the Awana Church Care Missionaries in Eastern North Carolina for the past 3 years.
What a joy it is to serve the churches and hear the opening statement from pastors and commanders on a regular basis. As Awana Missionaries we help churches to start and successfully run Awana Clubs that teach children and youth to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. We are currently serving 123 churches and are continually helping new churches get started with Awana.
Through the ministry of Awana children and youth are coming to church to participate in a fun and exciting club night that is filled with games, Bible lessons and Scripture memory. But most of all these children and youth are hearing about what Jesus did for them on the cross through the memorizing of God’s word. Many of the children are hearing the wonderful message of 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 for the very first time.

A large part of our ministry is training and motivating leaders to teach that great message in a fun and exciting way to children and youth. Along with our volunteer ministry team we train leaders and prepare them for the ministry in their church. We also visit the churches and offer ideas to improve their ministry. All along the way we see God producing great spiritual fruit in the lives of children and youth.
